The Canaries

There are some great jobs to be had in the cruise industry - the guy who unscrews the wine at the dinner table, the photographer snapping photos of grinning passengers sandwiched between two showgirls. However one of the best jobs must be the guy ( and it must be a guy) who decides on the cruise itineraries.
As you know, we traversed some 'interesting' seas to get to the Canaries. OUr first Canary island is La Palma. Anxious passengers raring to go ashore, but hey - it's Sunday ! Most places are closed . Never mind, there's always tomorrow - Tenerife. Now they boast that they only have 15 days of rain a year and, yes, you guessed it, this was one of them. It was also the day of the funeral of a past President so the roads were busy. Our tour guide informed us, as we drove alongside some scary roads, that there would surely be more accidents !
Next day to Gran Canaria - no rain, not a Sunday - looking good. Oh no - it's a public holiday !
So Lanzarote - it all depended on you . Luckily it delivered - smooth seas and beautiful sunny skies. One out of 4 ain't bad !!
Oh, and we won the quiz  !!!!

Now leaving Lisbon and heading towards Dover. The Captain has promised smooth seas through the Bay of Biscay - fingers crossed

  1. Hmmm...seems like you've been thwarted at every turn. Still, you have managed to see some of the sights, and it seems like the cruise itself was OK.
Fingers crossed for Bay of Biscay!
